The time is almost here, as San Diego Comic-Con 2010 draws closer all the juicy information spills out for the masses. Tonight word of TRON: Legacy has hit the web with a date and time for those eager to see the latest developments and teasers at the show.
At 11:15am on Thursday July 22, Disney will open the doors to Hall H and allow lucky visitors to seat themselves for a panel discussion with the filmmakers and stars from the film. Joe Kosinski, Sean Bailey, Steven Lisberger and others such as Jeff Bridges, Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde will be present. Patton Oswalt will direct the Q&A for the panel and play host to announce each glimpse at the film.
For those who don’t line up at 7-8am or earlier to get into Hall H, Disney will have an interactive TRON booth on the floor at aisle 3712 to preview new merchandise and apparel for the new movie. Disney Interactive Studios will also have the new TRON: Evolution video game on hand for everyone to play.
If you have a ticket and the means to get there in time, the panel should be a great way to kick off SDCC 2010.
While everyone is running out to see the latest movie in crisp 3D, others are tinkering trying to figure out how to reproduce that clarity in their own space. Instead of using two cameras on a handmade switch, consumers can now pick from a series of new Cyber-shot cameras packing 3D results with a single lens.
For those eager to know how the camera does this, the camera uses a high speed capture design to take multiple shots and sew them together. The images can then be viewed in 2D or in 3D with the right hardware. For those curious to know their results before they shoot, the DSC-TX9 and WX5 both allow for 3D previews to be viewed before pushing the trigger. For those looking for intense 3D, both cameras also feature depth of field simulation and a revamped auto mode which searches for the lowest ISO noise possible.
The new models pack other features such as HD recording for video and additional modes. For the consumer looking to have extra fun with the camera the TX9 / T99 or WX5 should suit that desire perfectly. If we do catch Sony for a hands-on piece we’ll be sure to include pictures and details about how they handled.
TX9 – $400 (Dark Gray, Red)
T99 – $250 (Silver, Black, Pink, Green, Violet)
WX5 – $300 (Silver, Black)

There are many things out there to attract RPG fans, brutality, hunting, crazy magic spells, epic summoning ability. Those just attack the tip of the iceberg, NIER is almost an entirely different beast it seems. Today the team releases a cultivation Tips n’ Tricks video to the masses to show off how absolutely intense you can be just about farming.
[stream flv=x:/www.bamfas.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Nier_Farming_NA_Combo-H.264.flv hd=x:/www.bamfas.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Nier_Farming_NA_Combo-H.264.flv embed=false share=false width=540 height=304 dock=true controlbar=over bandwidth=med autostart=false /]
As you can see from the video, NIER is hardcore about the little things, I had bad farming flashbacks just watching that sequence play out. For those wondering the PR team actually disclosed what the formula looks like to get the Lunar Tear.
(R + G + B = Ph)
(G + B = I)
o (R + I = Pk)
(Ph + Pk = (hopefully) W) x? = LT

Those who stuck it out with Crunchyroll for the first round of Strike Witches will find themselves lucking out again. The latest announcement from the site makes mention that Strike Witches 2 will run exclusively on Crunchyroll again. The format remaining the same with premium members getting HD on the same day as each episode airs and free viewers getting the stream a week later with ads.
From the announcement:
All the countries of the world joined forces to battle the Neuroi, a
vicious enemy of mankind, who suddenly appeared. The only ones with the
power to oppose them were an elite group of young girls who possessed
special, magical powers. The protagonist, Yoshika Miyafuji, was dispatched
from the Fuso Empire to Europe. She brilliantly succeeded in defeating the
Neuroi in Gallia and made many friends along the way.
The members of the 501st Joint Allied Wing, more commonly known as the
Strike Witches, have been enjoying six months of peace in Europe after the
end of Season 1. But suddenly, the Neuroi appear anew! In order to protect
Europe from the horrific threat that the Neuroi pose, the Strike Witches
take to the sky once again!
Streaming will be available to the following areas: United States, Canada, Americas, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Middle East, Africa
Keep an eye out for the latest on the Strike Witches 2 page.
We’re coming up on the Fall in just a few months, with limited time available Universal Studios and Rob Zombie are taking submissions for Halloween Horror Nights 2010. Offering short films of the year a chance to be judged and shown on Chiller TV, Syfy.com and a feature at Halloween Horror Nights with $1000 cash prize and tickets for two.
Entries start today through August 14, with limits ranging from 90 seconds to three minutes it should raise quite a challenge for directors to deliver that horror punch in such a short span. Announced criteria will include storytelling, skill, originality and the degree of scare (no pressure everyone). The top 10 will also take a spot on the Halloween Horror Nights website from September 3 – 17 for public voting after Universal and Rob Zombie have fielded out their best picks.
As details are non-existent on the official site I’ll throw down the entry information as well.

Good luck to all who enter, let us know if you make it into the final 10!
Basketball fans this year can cheer as one of the greatest in the game takes the stage. In NBA 2K11 Jordan will greet players in a three panel image acting as the first historic player to take the front page for the game. While not much is revealed for the specifics of what else Jordan will be doing, the 2K Sports team makes mention that 2K11 will page homage to ‘His Airness’. What this includes, I don’t know at this point as the team seems tight lipped for now. One can only hope for some court time with Jordan and maybe supporting commentary to along through each game. Seeing Jordan stack up against the top names in basketball today would be a great treat, but I’ll hold off from speculating too much.
It’s that time of year again, Comic-Con is just around the corner and the exclusives for the Con are finally here! While the list is too long to discuss in full detail here, there are a few toys that really stand out (for me anyway.)
First up is the BioShock “Big Sister Unmasked” 7-inch figure by NECA with a production run of 2,000. The figures that NECA has released in the BioShock series have been awesome thus far so this one will undoubtedly not be a disappointment. Not only do you get the Eleanor Lamb Big Sister but you also get a little sister complete with her little Big Daddy doll. The rest of this series has done quite well and at a $20.00 dollar price tag this figure is a bargain and will surely sell out.
Next is the Mr. Toast Devil Bacon plush exclusive. This exclusive is a nice follow up to last years Vampire Toast exclusive and is adorable. Devil Bacon, the bacon previously known as Shaky Bacon, comes in at a towering 11-inches tall and is detailed with horns and a tail. He is only $10.00 dollars and is limited to a production run of 1,000.
Finally, there will be a DC Direct Designs Battle Damaged Batman based on the amazing Batman: Arkham Asylum video game. While there are still no photos available of this figure, it looks like Graphitti Designs will be selling this figure in coordination with DC Direct and will be a must have. DC Direct will be releasing waves 1 and 2 of the Arkham Asylum collection in January and February of 2011 (respectively) so this figure will be a nice teaser to get us ready for rest of the Batman line! This figure has a production run of 4,000 and a price tag of $20.00.
