Okay so it’s not as bad as the headline sounds, Outplay Entertainment is a new casual gaming company hoping to get some gamer’s to check out their new releases on Facebook. The two titles in question are Word Trick and Booty Quest, yes I know I know, I had to go over that a few times as well.
Booty Quest takes players into a classic Bejeweled format of chain attacks to survive. You grab all the booty you can find to score high and gain multipliers in each round, you’ll be racing the clock so you’ll need to move fast to set the bar for each conquest. As a game that combines simple mechanics and booty, it’s hard to go wrong just based on that information. From the screen shots it looks like a solid offering for players hoping to get some quick enjoyment without the fuss or hassle that come with higher profile offerings, you grab as much booty as you can and get out after you set your score.
Word Trick is just as simple, it’s a scrabble type game that will hook users of words with friends and other popular word games. You can challenge friends or random opponents for a battle of the brains or at least others that spam google for word help like no tomorrow. Popular features are in Word Trick including Chat and Status updates when your opponents make a move.
Both games are available now on Facebook, I suggest you enjoy some Word Trick and cool off by getting your fill of Booty Quest before calling it a night.
Team Ninja has odd timing but we’re not going to question that, instead we’re bringing first looks at Ayane and Hitomi who are two of the most recognized fighters in the mix for the DOA universe. At TGS Team Ninja teases Ryu Hayabusa and Hayate but there’s no doubt this will stir some interest. Check out the screens below to get a feel for it.
Done? Cool, Dead or Alive 5 promises to bring high quality and high energy fighting into the mix, something we’ve had no shortage of with games like UMVC3 and KOF stepping up their speed of pace this year. Their focus will be on displaying a variety of techniques along with their signature styles already formed, the mix should attract fans and fighting purists into a brawl unlike any other.
Dead or Alive took off on the Dreamcast and in the Arcades when it released its sequel title, from there it was high explosions graceful but powerful moves and intense combinations that carried it into legend. For me, it’s one of the best 3D fighters in the mix as it always sticks true to the basic formula for gameplay and few titles out there can pull that off anymore.
So Bethesda broke the game for a moment there but now it’s fixed or at least they’re hoping it’s all fixed again with today’s 1.3 patch for Skyrim. Xbox and Playstation users will need to hold out an extra few days as Sony and Microsoft run the patch through their approval systems, kind of a pain but it’s always that way for those platforms. PC users will notice it already loading over Steam as a game update and everything should be fine from there.
The total changelog is here:
Update 1.3 Notes (all platforms unless specified)
- General stability improvements
- Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
- Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
- Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
- Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
- Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
- Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate
The team also plans to address 4GB memory spaces officially, users having issues can already download a patch from Skyrim Nexus to attack this directly.

We’re in day 2, the consumers are restless for more and we’ve found the next lineup for you guys a little earlier than yesterday.
All of the above apps are 10 cents each and a new list will go live tomorrow with even more offers. Again I nabbed up Fruit Ninja, Reckless Racing and Star Chart for myself. I suggest getting in on it before losing this batch.
Anandtech has a reveal today on the new 7000m and 600m lines from AMD and NVIDIA, if you’re thinking about getting a new notebook in the next few months this will be a read you don’t want to miss.
Today AMD brings news of their 7600m, 7500m and 7400m series chips to market, for budget users hoping for a little entertainment this is your average chip you might see, the new line has one problem, it’s based on the 6000m series of the same rank. If you’re eyeballing notebooks at Best Buy and hung up on the 7650 vs the 6750 you’ll only have to worry about the CPU pairing not the video as they’re the same base chip with a possible bump in core speed. As it turns out, AMD is having issues getting their new 28nm based line into production which is what has sparked this shift.
NVIDIA is no better, we get news from the same piece that NVIDIA is doing a paper launch of the 600m series chips. In this case the full specs are available showing each spec is identical in performance and features. The 635m, 630m and 610m are all rebadged from the 500 series. If you’re looking for a reason to upgrade now, these will give absolutely no benefit if you already have a similar numbered model.
Anandtech has detailed charts for each product line and the news is disappointing for any hardware fan. While it’s nice for them to keep the number system limited, a rebadge tends to act as a trap for the consumers that don’t do the research. We would recommend anyone to just get the model that strikes them the best for the better price point. Why waste money on a 635m when the 555 might be $150 cheaper in a similar or better system, we can’t give you a reason really.
Anandtech: Introducing AMD’s Radeon 7000M and NVIDIA’s GeForce 600M Mobile GPUs
It’s been mentioned a million times already but Nintendo finally has their system update available now. There are a few new features rolling out but the biggest is 3D video recording, stop-motion recording, the upgraded eShop and the StreetPass Mii Plaza.
For those wondering about Hulu Plus. No sign of it yet in the update notes the shop or on Hulu itself, what was one of the most anticipated updates is still missing from the 3DS.
Here are a few special notes on the upgrade:
- 3D Video is limited to 10 minute bursts, most likely a buffer limitation
- The eShop now supports credit to add the funds required
- Download now or Download later are available for purchases on the fly
- Download queues are now able to work while the system is in sleep mode
- Find Mii and Puzzle swap see new upgrades in StreetPass Mii Plaza
- Nintendo Zone support is expanded to over 29,000 3DS Hotspots
- Netflix requires a subscription still ($7.99 base)
There’s a lot of functionality here but I think most of the attention will be toward Hulu Plus missing the boat again on the 3DS. Only time will tell is Nintendo is content with just Netflix on board and their internal video service or if they’ll make that leap finally.
