Bandai Entertainment exits the publishing realm

Closing up the publishing arm, will continue to pursue digital distribution, merchandise and licensing though

In the past decade we’ve seen the fall of many anime groups, today Bandai Entertainment joins the ranks of the fallen as they plan to exit the Anime and Manga realm at the end of this month. The focus will cause the company to stop releasing new titles on DVD/Blu-ray and Manga formats and instead look toward digital distribution networks, broadcasting and merchandise efforts.

As  a result we’ll see the following titles cancelled.

  • Turn-A-Gundam
  • Nichijou
  • Gosick
  • Kannagi 4-6
  • Code Geass: Renya
  • Gurren Lagann Vol. 7
  • Gundam 001
  • Lucky Star Boo Boo Kagaboo
  • Nichijou Manga
  • Code Geass R2 Novels
  • Tales of the Abyss : Jade 1 & 2

Also expect to see the Twitter and Facebook groups for Bandai Entertainment closing up shop soon as well. Word is the Current Amazon storefront for Bandai will continue to operate during this time of transition. For those worried about their gaming experience, no word has landed on Namco Bandai being impacted by this change at this point.
