Image Comics sends FATALE #1 back for a fifth printing

Some comics if they’re lucky hit 2-3 prints, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips are proud to say they’re sending their creation into a 5th pressing for FATALE #1, the comic has been selling like hotcakes and should be arriving on shelves again on May 9th (MAR128079). It’s really a unique milestone for the duo and for Image.

Thoughts from the team:

“I couldn’t believe it when Eric told me the fourth printing had sold out immediately, because we set that print run thinking it would last for several months,” said writer Brubaker. “But it appears many retailers still just can’t keep the first issue in stock. So we are back to press one more time, because I want to be sure retailers can sell the other issues in the series.”

The series has been keeping up in all areas, FATALE 2 and 3 have both hit second printings and issue # 4 just launched 5 days ago so we’ll see if that continues the trend.

DC gives previews of Superboy #8 and Saucer Country #2

DC has some goodies for the fans today, first look previews of Superboy #8 and Saucer country are now available.

Superboy #8

The story acts as a prelude to the crossover that DC has been talking about for the past few conventions now, Teen Titans, Legion Lost and The Ravagers are all coming to a head in this new event. The book works to help tie all of these groups together before this new arc kicks off.

Saucer Country #2

Arcadia Alvarado is back, the Presidential hopeful telling tales of abduction is running full steam into issue #2 as staff and trusted friends get wind of the tale and the warning of a full invasion coming their way. Is this the best idea around? Probably not, but we’ll see how well her people can keep a secret and if this ultimately damages her future campaign plans.

Rumor- Nintendo’s Wii U $300?

Rumor is spinning that Montreal-based culture and entertainment site Forget the Box has a close source to the manufacturing and distributing arm for Nintendo products. It has been rumored the Wii U manufacturing cost will be about $180 with additional $50 for the controller based. The source also said that Nintendo is concerned about cutting production costs to maximize profits. To keep investors from stepping back, they plan to cut the cost of hardware for the Wii U, Nintendo wants investors to see Wii U as a less risky proposition and avoid another 3DS situation for the company.

The source has also said that Nintendo is going with an economical GPU and CPU that could keep up with today’s current consoles, but still keep hardware costs down and increase profits. By getting a good deal for the GPU and CPU, and with the focus on downloadable content, applications, video content, digital distribution, and services this should have investors excited.

We’ll have to wait for more to break out about the console and see if Nintendo can confirm or elaborate on these details before E3 rolls around in June.
