Civil War hits theaters May 6, its sure to be another hit from Marvel!
2 days removed from Super Bowl Sunday, we got to see a collection of hit and miss super bowl commercials, but let’s be real here, we all wanted to see the Batman v Superman, X-Men Age of Apocalypse and Captain America: Civil War trailers, and that’s exactly what we got.
Age of Apocalypse trailer surprised us with some new shots, the first one of them of Psylocke in action, along with an Angel vs Nightcrawler. From the looks of the trailer Apocalypse and company has started a war against humanity with this statement “Everything they built will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we will build a better one!”
“United we Stand! United we fall!” is the theme for the new Captain America: Civil War trailer, we get better look at who’s on Caps side and who’s on Iron Man’s side, again we get a good look of Black Panther, and we see he’s on iron Man’s side, I doubt he’s with the registration act, probably after Winter Solider. This movie is setting up to be a blockbuster, and one I personally can’t wait to see.
Last but not lease is the Batman V Superman trailers or should I say ads, instead of dropping a trailer the gaves a series of Turisk Airline Ads that feature Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) both pitch the wonders of their respective cities in a double promotion commercial for Turkish Airlines and Batman v Superman, is what the fans wanted? No but its creative we to market the movie. Fans shouldn’t have really expected much since the movie’s release date is right around the corner.
The question is What Movie got you excited? was it’s Batman V Superman Vacation ad like trailers , or was it Captain America’s Civil War’s action pack trailer.
Magnetic Press is in full force this week helping push news on the release of the Adventures of Basil and Moebius graphic novel. Instead of just ads or trailers or promo material though, they launched a short film titled No Rest for the Wicked. The film is a quick shot introducing the characters and a bit of how they get down to business. Ray Park, Malcom McDowell and even Zachary Levi join up for the central characters in this brawl and heist storyline.
For those new to the series as I am, it’s a rougher introduction, we don’t get much story on Basil or Moebius coming in, the movie with time constraint focuses on the here and now and slowly sprinkles in bits of those details at the end which do help tidy things up. That said, even with the budget and time limitations they do tell a fun story through action and script of course. Gestures and mannerisms of each character start to emerge which set these two apart and help tell why they’re in this high security flat to begin with.
Is there more to carry out? There always that chance in any media, with the introductions made it’s unlikely to have that cold start in the next installment when it comes along, as the story progressed the stiffer lines and gestures took a step back to let the actors really start feeling in their own zone. Other than that, some plot closures would be nice versus just letting it seem like things just fell into place because they had to.
Personally I do enjoy buddy style movies, Basil and Moebius are that mix of rough behavior and grace that create entertaining conflict and development, a brawler with a smooth talking thief who always has an eye on the prize. I haven’t reviewed the graphic novel yet but I can feel that it would feed the character and story needs I have from sitting through No Rest for the Wicked. When I’m able to complete that I’ll pass along my verdict in a dedicated feature.
For those who want to check out the film on their site give it a go with this link, or you can just check it out below.
The Fast and Furious has always featured some outrageous cars for the budget and time of each movie, from super high power Supra’s, R34’s and more to the W Motors Lykan Hypersport, a monster of a car using a turbocharged Flat-6 pushing 240mph. What’s even crazier is the movie is playing with a car that only has 6 other co-models in the world.
The actors reflect on using the car in the movie and the fun they had shooting with such a rare machine in the franchise. It’s worth a look and my goodness it looks absolutely stunning from just the clips they’re teasing.
Furious 7 hits theaters April 3rd, while you wait though check out the short gallery below for more images from this announcement.
Ever wonder what the world would have looked like if Sara Connor was prepared for the oncoming War? In the upcoming Terminator Genisys Kyle Reese who’s played by actor Jai Courtney is sent back in time to save Sarah Connor unlike the original movie where Sarah mostly was sacred and running for her life, this time around she’s fully aware and capable of taking care of herself.
On the verge of winning the war against Skynet, Connor sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back through time to save his mother Sarah Connor’s life and ensure his own existence. However, what Kyle finds on the other side is like nothing he ever expected.
After being orphaned at age 9 by a Terminator, Sarah Connor has since been brought up by another Terminator Model 101 programmed to protect her. This Terminator has then trained her to face her destiny, which she adamantly tries to reject.
Terminator Genisys has been slated to hit theaters July 1, 2015 by Paramount Pictures and will cast Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke.
On December 6, 2014 Masashi Kishimoto released the final Naruto movie: Za Rasuto: Naruto za Mūbī ake The Last: Naurto the Movie and that short amount of time the movie has already made 515 Million Yen making it the #1 movie in japan, when you break it down in US money it adds up around 4.27 Million, in just two days the film over took the previous Road to Ninja total box office numbers, you can guarantee that number will continue to shoot up as the year finishes.
News of a United States release has not been stated but I’m sure Studio Pierrot will announced something around the end of the year.
If you haven’t been under a rock the last couple weeks JJ Abrams and company released the new teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and from the responses of the many fans out there it looks as if JJ and company are on the right track. With the trailer being just over a minute thirty it showed just enough footage to let people know they’re bring everything fans loved in the past movies to the future.
You know you’ve made an impact when SNL does a skit about a 1:30 trailer, over 58 million viewers on YouTube watched the trailer with hype meter shooting through the roof let’s see if Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm keep this momentum up until December 18, 2015.
As for the plot nothing has been revealed as of yet only that it will be 30 years after The Return of the Jedi, the movie will also include the original cast such as Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa, and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, it also will feature a few new cast: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis.
Down below are the original and a couple of spoof trailers I found amusing
Looking to boost the unique cover art in your collections? Fox Home Entertainment has that covered with the re-release of 13 major cult horror films for October, movies like The Silence of the Lambs, The Amityville Horror, Carrie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 and more all grace the stage with really amazing art, you can actually catch samples of the art from Skuzzles below. I know I’m already debating which ones to pick up, it’s really cool when groups like this get to work on especially unique projects like these. The full snapshot from Skuzzles on the project is below.
At Skuzzles, we really want to offer artists the opportunity to work on titles they’re passionate about. We try to direct and pair artists where the it seems fit, but ultimately we want the artist to have equal say in how the art is executed. The goal is to keep the end result as close to the artists original vision as possible. Having said this, here’ s a little bit of feedback from the artists regarding their concepts behind the artwork:
Todd Slater:Invasion of the Body Snatchers – “What if the pod with the flower was shaped similar to a sternum in a ribcage (it’s really close now) and the white tendrils expand and extend from the pod to form more of the ribs and skeleton? The background could be deep dark outer space. My thought is that *the pods are building a new you*.”
Randy Ortiz:Silence of the Lambs – “…I wanted to go a more symbolic route and have it be clean and classy.”
Dan Mumford:Last house on the left – “… I found the scene where Mari walks into the water to be quite haunting and probably the most pivotal moment, so i worked from that and created quite a haunting still moment based around the lake she walks into. We also have two of the murderers standing there and her necklace dangling down with the smallest hint of blood red seeping through.”
Jason Edmiston:Child’s Play – “For my Child’s Play art, I wanted to show Chucky’s maniacal character, at the pinnacle of his power. I love the black magic quality of the movie, and tried to capture the killer doll in mid-chant, surrounded by crazy voodoo lightning, He scared me when I first saw this movie as a teen, and I wanted my cover art to evoke the same feeling. Most of the Child’s play art is dark, with a black background. I thought my brightly lit piece would stand out from previous iterations.”
“Ghoulish” Gary Pulin: The Amityville Horror – “I just really went down the rabbit hole playing up different variables with the windows and the passage way to hell they find in the basement, but I’m happy with the graphic, iconic approach we landed on for the cover. When I reversed the shot of the house into the white negative space, it’s features of it really seemed to jump out. I knew I wanted to do something with the flies as well, so it seemed to make sense that they make up the portrait of James Brolin, as he goes through a transformation from good natured to an evil presence throughout the film.”
Carrie – “There’s a lot of ways you can go with a movie like Carrie but I wanted to focus on the intensity of the final scene and her rage filled eyes (if you look close they are fire balls). The silhouette of the knife is a nod to her insane mother and the control she’s unable to keep over her.”
Teen Wolf – This was a silk-screened poster I had created with Skuzzles previously and I’m really excited to see it become the face for an official release of the film. I hope I made Stiles proud.
It was an absolute pleasure to work on this project with everyone involved. Don’t forget to checkout the other works of each artist by visiting their website! We couldn’t be happier with the end result, and we really hope collectors enjoy these as much as we do. Let us know what you think!
