A new esports reality show, GAMEMASTER, will debut on a streaming service in Spring 2020. The nine-episode show will feature Wil Wheaton as the Commissioner/Host and showcase 12 amateur esports contestants from across the U.S. Ripped from their gaming chairs and plunged into our world, these gamers will live together in a house under the inescapable spotlight of a competition being broadcast on platforms around the globe. The contestants will be announced soon.
Over the course of nine episodes (featuring more than two dozen video games), the reality show will find fan favorites, mortal enemies, awesome games, cool gear, and tremendous audiences — all in a quest to discover the one, true “GameMaster.” Twelve amateur gamers start out, someone goes home each week, and two will battle it out at the finale to grab the $100K cash prize and claim the title.
GAMEMASTER is being produced by Georgia-based Peach Maria Productions (pronounced muh-RY-uh), and will be powered by AMD.
“GAMEMASTER takes the love of gaming and elevates it to a whole new level through the first immersive, multi-platform, head-to-head competition for both casual and die hard gaming fans,” said show creator and executive producer John Colp. “Our players won’t play the same game from noon to night. They will play different games throughout and, at the end, the person who has the best cumulative score will be crowned the champion.”
“Gaming is part of almost all of our lives, whether on consoles or computers or phones, we’re all gamers in some way,” says executive producer Laurie Lockliear. “GAMEMASTER celebrates the joy, tech and humor that gamers love – whether you’re a professional player or you’re playing solitaire on your phone!”

Captain Marvel is in some serious trouble upon its March 8th release, Marvel and Kevin Feige have a big issue to address and that’s Captain Marvels bad reviews form the media. In the world of whatever you say will be held against you in this era, it’s important you are extremely careful of what you say in social media and on camera. The witch hunt in social media is at an all-time high, and everyone is at risk. When Marvel announces Brie Larson as the newest hero in the Marvel’s Cinematic Universe fans were curious to how she would portray the character.
In 2017 Marvel revealed some artwork of what the character was going to look like and fans responded well to it, as months passed on and onset photos were leaked, the hype for Captain Marvels release was starting to pick up. Finally, when the first trailer was debut fan reception was mixed but did receive 100 million views, the second trailer debuted December 3rd, 2018 during Monday Night Football and once again the trailer received mixed review, while the trailer feature more of the plot and characters involved it didn’t show anything special compared to its predecessors, so the hype behind the movie slightly fell and fans begin to express their concerns.
Some controversy has hit Marvel when it’s lead star Brie Larson made a statement about 40-year white dudes. These comments open the flood gates for the witch hunters to attack the studio and the actress, fans started petitions and boycotts towards the actress and the film, they even labeled her a man hater which some translated to white men only due to the initial comment. Even fellow celebrities joined in on the hunt, one popular statement was by actress Mindy Robinson, she released a tweet saying “Instead of seeing Captain Marvel and it’s a man-hating lead actress this weekend, see Alita: Battle Angel instead. It stars a strong female without all the SJW bullsh*t. #alitachallenge”. A challenge many have jumped aboard, Marvel has been in hot water because of its SJW issues in the Star Wars movies, and fans seem to think Captain Marvel is another way Disney is trying to push the issue. So, with 3 days to go before all eyes are able to see Captain Marvel, Disney and company have some work with its fans. If they continue to let their actors and actresses and directors become loose cannons on social media, trouble will always affect their movies.
While I do think what Brie Larson said was insensitive and uncalled for, the witch hunt on her and the movie is ridiculous, it’s okay to give your opinions and disapproval of what people say, its not right to destroy those same people for saying what he or she has said, we have to get over this somehow. In the end, I know on the 8th I’ll be going to see Captain Marvel because I’m a fan of the character and what Marvel has given us so far,
What the hell is going on in the gaming community? Over the past few months, developers and publishers have been showing the shady side of the video gaming business, with outrages micro-transactions to releasing beta stage games on release day, the video game community has really shown an ugly side. By now everyone knows about the Fallout fiasco, and how Bethesda pretty much alienate its own game and fans, something Bethesda isn’t known for. Fallout 76 is a broken mess, players are hacking their way through the game and Bethesda is handling this issue poorly, granted Bethesda did release an apology, but it fell on deaf ears. The damage is done and Bethesda will have to repair its relationship with its fans because of it.
The Latest fiasco comes by the way of BioWare’s Anthem, EA is notorious for killing great IP’s and Anthem is another casualty of that. Anthem was high, I mean highly anticipated upon its release. Fans at E3 got a glimpse of what Anthem was going to be, with its beautiful graphics and promise of rich and vibrant world fans jumped on board with BioWare’s next project despite knowing EA’s history of egregious monetization of its games. So, when the beta of Anthem was released fans were not surprised with the games instore item prices, the outrage made EA and BioWare backtrack and promise fans the item prices were subject to change before its final release.
Unfortunately, things got worse for BioWare, Anthem released in beta like state, with limited in-game content and poor customization features. Players quickly called out BioWare and EA for Anthem’s poor content and the game’s sales showed that. BioWare fans were sure EA was going to crack the whip on BioWare and shut the studio down, but Anthem producer Michael Gamble reassure fans a shutdown wasn’t in its future stating “Lots of folks are playing Anthem” also promising support of Anthem will continue over next couple months. While the reassurance was a good start, fans question whether EA was actually behind this.
As a fan I find it hard to believe anything PR related by EA, they have shown clearly, they do not care about its fans. As for BioWare, its extremely disappointing that Anthem was released in such a bad state, past games such as Dragon Age and the beloved Mass Effect franchise are some of the most popular IP’s in the industry. What BioWare does next is going to be crucial to Anthem’s future. In fact, it’s going to play a roll in BioWare’s future despite their recent reassurance.
Personally, I’m not optimistic about Anthem’s future, EA has ruined and shutdown too many developers and its IP’s as of late, put that with EA’s money hungry business tactics the future looks grim for Anthem. But who I ‘am I to say BioWare’s Anthem will fail, I’m just a regular guy giving his opinion.
On January 15, 2019, Marvel finally released its first teaser of Spider-Man Far from Home to the masses and from the looks of it, this is going to be another hit. With the success of Spider-Man Homecoming it was only natural the hype for the sequel was going to be through the roof, and it was but when Marvel released Infinity War some fans question the ending of Infinity War, Did the announcement of Spider-Man Far from Home spoil the future of Spider-man? Yeah, it kind of did, but then again who really believe we wouldn’t see a second Spidey film. The teaser features our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man taking a summer trip to Europe and from their things get a little crazy when Nick Fury decides to pay him a visit.
- Tom Holland – Peter Parker/Spider-Man
- Jake Gyllenhaal – Quentin Beck/ Mysterio
- Zendaya – Michelle “MJ” Jones
- Samuel L. Jackson – Nick Fury
The holidays are a strenuous time for people, finances take on new light and finding some personal time for hobbies like gaming becomes a challenge. For those on the console front, Turtle Beach is offering a bit of temptation. From November 23, 2018 – January 31, 2019 players that pick up a new headset will also get 5 passes for one-night game rentals from Redbox. It’s a nice little partnership in a way, letting people hop on for a moment of zen or extreme inner rage with a brief 24 hour rental on their Xbox One or Playstation 4 console.
Even if that’s out of personal budget for the season, there’s always a chance to put a new set on the wish list and time to claim those even after the holidays wrap up, with almost an entire month available to redeem those codes afterward. Tired of that OEM setup? It might be time to go up to a Recon, Stealth or even an Elite series for even deeper immersion.
Digital game sales are inevitable, so it’s natural that everyone wants to get the jump on the competition as best they can. Starting at 00:01 UTC on November 21, Green Man Gaming will throw their hat into the ring of chaos for PC gamers.
