Image comics is kicking off their anniversary this year, as part of that celebration of 20 years Giarrusso is re-creating 12 classic issues with custom variants for fans. For those unfamiliar, The Walking Dead for Kids! cover and art was an April Fools gag but it will actually play part into this limited variant launch.
First up for this treatment is the relaunch of Youngblood (Issue 71) the variant will pay tribute to the first issue of the series in kiddie form, they already have the art out and it looks amazing. Youngblood will also see John McLaughlin from Parker and The Black Swan fame as writer and John Malin and Rob Liefeld coming in as artists for this rebirth on May 23.
11 more titles are waiting confirmation but we’ll have to see what happens, Image Comics is only noting to stay tuned for more info on the goodies, fingers are crossed to see some love for Bloodstrike, Shadow Hawk and Spawn though. Unfortunately for The Walking Dead fans it doesn’t seem like this gag series will take off anytime soon.
Get ready to gear up for a new adventure in the DC Universe, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is relaunching in July courtesy of DC Comics. The new series is slated to take on a new life for the warrior in celebration of his anniversary this year, for those wondering, he’s celebrating 30 years of awesome this year.
Unfortunately it’s a six-issue limited series but hopefully if the reception is strong enough it’ll continue beyond that for the fans.
Some words from DC on the new comic:
In the new series, Robinson reintroduces the Masters of the Universe® to comic readers with Skeletor having won a major victory and rewriting the world of Eternia where he now rules from Castle Grayskull and the Masters have no memory of their former glory. Adam is a simple woodsman haunted by dreams of a heroic warrior, wielding a powerful sword in battle. He is found by a mysterious sorceress who tells him his dreams are of the way the world should be, that he is Eternia’s champion He-Man. Adam sets off on a quest to regain his power and reawaken the Masters of the Universe.

There’s no doubt the fight will be a tough one, with Atari, Mike Schramm, Nolan Bushnell and Dave Castelnuovo as judges anything could happen as you mix formal corporate with an indie with a man who made the game itself. Remember to enter in by April 15 or you’ll see your dreams and rewards passed up.
It’s a month of gaming promotions I kid you not, Steam, Android, Get Games and others are just blowing out sales on products. Today though Xbox users get to share in 25 years of Ubisoft products with an exclusive sale on digital titles. Unfortunately it’s a mix of pricing but we’ll note it all here.
It was mentioned we would also see Scott Pilgrim Vs the World The Game in the list, unfortunately it looks like all the related goods for the game are still at full price. Hopefully some shifts do come up, it would be a shame to lose out on it at the last minute.
