Dying to get into Disney Infinity 2.0 but you don’t have the funds to get started? Well there’s a free starter edition for free on the PC. If you want more characters you’ll have to buy them in-store (comes with redemption code) or through their web shop but there are options to enjoy the game.
Currently downloading it to see if they’ve addressed common issues like local co-op for the PC (not possible with 1.0) so we’ll get a larger slate of impressions next week. For now grab a copy and get started in the new Marvel Infinity world.

Marvel is back this week with another batch of freebies for fans to catch up on, this week of course continues the Fear Itself theme with a special feature of power pack from 1984 as well to round things out. Coming up from there will be a large shift, moving over to Juggernaut, Silver Sable, Band of Heroes and Lorna the Jungle Queen, quite a shift given they’ve been on a huge streak with Fear Itself lately.

Looking for good freebies to catch while you’re at C2E2? Check out the ComiXology booth at the show while you can to get a limited edition renewal card for The Walking Dead Volume 1 in digital format. The team has been at work handing these out for major conventions but no matter how many times they do it the reward doesn’t lose value. As usual Marvel is back with tempting treats for everyone, today brings a special batch of news for readers who have been riding on the freebie train. Fear Itself is rolling with full power but next week will bring some classic changes with The Death of Captain Marvel from 1982 and Excalibur: XX Crossing #1 into the picture. Captain Marvel will be a longer read as a graphic novel installment and should help deliver some interesting variety to the mix.

While we’re late on the updates, Aspen has some panel previews for Zooniverse, a new title coming to Free Comic Book day in May, we’re closing in on the annual event and the art in this freebie looks impressive.Peter Steigerwald is hard at work on this title and we have a work-in-progress series of art that goes from pencil to ink to color.
Remember our Wondercon coverage about Geek & Sundry? It’s April and they’ve wasted no time to get into the groove, Dark Horse has their first motion comic out using their latest technology for viewing. Check out the upgraded version of The Secret in the embedded clip below.
First impressions, smooth movement, nice body gestures and the live camera follow is well executed as it drives down a corridor. It’s much less jerky and actually gives the impression of an animation. I don’t know if I could take all my comics in this form but it’s certainly an interesting new path they’re going down.
