Cyclops are seen regrouping in the X-Diasoira classified location, where he divides the team into small group of two, he then orders them to search in different location for Hope, the first group consist of Magneto,Psylocke, Boom Boom are order to Wundagore the second group Namor, Sunspot, Hezibah to Tabula Rasa.
Meanwhile on Tabula Rasa, Montana a creature that looks like one the night people is given medical attention to one of his own, but is distrated when hears a impact so he quickly takes off the impact site. At the crash site a team of three Avengers Luke Cage, Thing and She-Hulk are exploring the surrounding area trying to locate the signal of Hope that directs them to a Cave. As they walk inside the cave the creature arrives and comments on how the three of them are similar to X-Men. Somewhere on Tabula Rasa Sunspot and Hezibah are waiting for Namor who returns form under water with help. Back in the Cave the Avengers are fighting a giant worm like creature and its little worm like minions, with ease they quickly dispose of the worms in and outside the Cave but are met by the X-Men and the battle begins with the creature form before looking on.
Uncanny X-Men #12 is a really solid issue with good fight sequence especially the fight between Namor and Thing. Kieron Gillen and Greg Land do a excellent job in my opinion making two minor unattractive characters look like bad-asses. Gillen also slips in alittle humor noticeably when Hezibah humorously asks the water creature queen if Namor is any good in bed, with that said Uncanny X-Men#12 is a definite pick up for those following the AvX series.

Avengers vs X-Men is rolling at full speed, this week we see The New Avengers back story leading into the showdown with the X-Men on the island. Tense times are surrounding the team, with people still angry over the latest Norman Osborn escape and Luke Cage and Jessica Jones at the heart of it calling it a mess would be an understatement. The appearance of the Phoenix Force calls the group to put their differences aside though as their current concerns could very well vanish in a whim if the Phoenix finds a host and goes unchecked on Earth.
For those coming off of AvX expecting everyone to start swinging, this isn’t the case, we get a flashback as they leap out of the carrier to the big meeting and learn a large chunk of story relating to Luke Cage and his missing wife and child. The team has a common goal, to see tomorrow and they’ll now do anything they can to make sure it happens, while Cap and Iron man are central figures for the Avengers, the spotlight moves to Cage in the story as he’ll do anything on this planet to make sure his child is able to have a future.
Unfortunately New Avengers #24 is incredibly short and could have even served as a better place during the prequel to this arc, having the whole story take place in a moment as they jump from their ship toward the X-Men feels like it would be a cinematic move but the actual arc started last week only moves up a slight turn leaving more of a fizzle for impact.
Mike Deodato and Will Conrad take up the task of creating the entire team and giving life to them in this tense time for the Avengers, Luke Cage as a spotlight figure shows his emotional wear in each panel as he makes his plea on national tv. There’s also a monumental moment as they gather at the table, faces grim to the news coming forward as they know a meeting of this size is nothing to take lightly. Key moments were Panther, Storm, Wolverine and even hulk in the scene as they could only feel the worst about to hit their lives.
As Luke Cage looks to take up a central role in AvX I would say it’s a safe bet to invest in New Avengers #24 to get a feel for what he’ll be bringing to the table in this fight, for him he’ll have everything to lose.
Marvel is out in full force promoting AvX, with the debut issue already out they’re now preparing readers for the side story arcs including the New Avengers. Luke Cage isn’t all that sold on the idea of this battle and it seems like he’ll be another stone in the path for Captain America before he expands his forces, how his decision impacts the team at large will be uncovered and we’ll get a better glimpse it seems as to where Wolverine sits in this. By the cover art it seems the appearance on island at the end of Avengers vs X-Men wasn’t as telling as it seemed.
Check out the panels in the gallery below, keep in mind that Marvel preview pages do not come with text so your guess is as good as ours on where it’s all going.
