Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs Limited Edition has a HIGH Price tag!!

Ubisoft’s highly anticipated “Watch Dogs” has just announced their holiday limited Edition collection Box, which features:

• Watch Dogs video game

• 9″ statue of Aiden Pearce prominently showing his deadliest weapon – his smartphone

• Aiden Pearce’s iconic vigilante mask

• Collectible SteelBook™ game case featuring DedSec art

• Official soundtrack with an original score by pioneering composer Brian Reitzell, whose work includes the films The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, and the video game Red Faction: Armageddon. His recent projects – Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and the hit NBC thriller Hannibal – are earning critical acclaim, reaffirming Reitzell’s status as one of the industry’s top composers.

• Deluxe hardcover art book with 80 pages of concept art

The price for this collector’s box will be set at a pricey $130, let’s hope all the extra goods is worth it because this surely is going to leave a hole in gamers pockets. In fact don’t be surprised if you hear gamers express their displeasure for such a high price tag to Ubisoft. It wasn’t that long ago fans were upset about the always online connectivity when it was released, we all seen how that went over with gamers when SimCity was released. The good news is that Ubisoft address that issue at Comic-Con 2013 stating the hassle of of having to be online and forced internet connectivity isn’t worth it.

While that is good news, it still doesn’t change the $130 price tag. But then again we always buy the standard game for $59.99 when it’s released this November.

Ubisoft Wasn’t to Re-Connect with PC gamers

ubisoft-logo

Ubisoft has just recently updated  their Uplay Store catalogue which now features  third-party Publishers, The plan next for them is to compete in the digital market of gaming, publishers understand that in order to be successful in the Pc gaming community they need to improve its perception PC gamers have of them.

Uplay director, Stephanie Perotti has said Uplay and all its partners are committed to the PC community saying “We are always seeking to improve. We took a lot of that feedback on board. With every game on PC we are improving. Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed III on PC were very high quality.”

I’m not surprised by this move of Ubisoft with nex-Gen consoles basically becoming mini Pc machines, publishers won’t have the constraints that now gen consoles have when porting PC games to console, this may lead to actually something big down the road, maybe online multiplayer?

It’s still good to see and know Ubisoft is not jumping the nex-gen console ban wagon as of yet, and still have the Pc gaming community in mind.

PlayStation 4 Is Officially Announced Along With Future Game Releases At Sony’s PlayStation Event

Yesterday Sony Entertainment gave us the scope on the PlayStation 4, Lead architect Mark Cerny presented and went of the specs of the Nex-Gen console staying the goal is to “free developers form technological barriers.” With a history of 30 years in the gaming industry Mark Cerny has seen it all.

sony-announces-the-playstation-4-0-620x413 (1)
Mark Cerny holding the PS4 Dualshock 4

In the beginning of the event Cerny got into detail of what’s really inside the console, the Ps4 will use the X86 CPU with 8GB memory and a local hard drive; it will also use the APU technology and GDDR5 memory that is found in high end graphics cards.

One of main focal points Cerny and the rest of the developers that spoke put a lot of emphasis on Simple, Immediate, Social, Integrated and personalized as words to describe the Ps4. The first major thing announced was that the console has a secondary chip for uploading and downloading in the background as you play, Example if you’re playing a game and you want to record it all you have to do is press a button on the controller and it will record that very second, that same chip also lets you play Digital games as it’s being downloaded.

Sony’s Ps vita will be compatible with the Ps4, letting the gamer switch between the two without starting your game over, somewhat like the Wii U controller. The social aspect of ps4 looks to be impressive as well players can now tune in to fellow gamers and watches them playing through there game, players can even ask there spectators for help, going as far as giving the spectator the ability to take control of the game. All which Sony’s Anderw House said will create “Experiences that surpass gamer’s wildest expectations.”

From there capabilities of the Ps4 graphical prowess were shown in demo reels of real time graphic engines like the Unreal engine 4, square enix luminous engine, and Capcom’s impressive Panta Rhei engine, also shown was the improvements of the Move and motion stick and how it could be used in the Ps4, with games allowing the player to create things in full scale 3D.

The final hour of the Event was basically dedicated to the games that are going to be released when the Ps4 hits. Games like Sucker Punches Infamous: Second Son and Bungie’s Destiny didn’t have actually in game footage, but developers Guerrilla Games Killzone: Shadow Fall and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs had on hand real time game demos live.

In the end Sony’s PlayStation Event was what I expected it to be and that is the official announcement of the PS4. From top-tier exclusives from its best studios to multiplatform experiences from respected publishers and developers in the industry, the Ps4 looks to start off with a bang.

Here are the gameplay footage of the new Killzone and a brand new Watch Dogs game footage.

Wii U Tech Shown On Leaked Rayman Legends Trailer…..

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ubisoft has released the following statement:

“An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins’ sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features. This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier.”

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Rayman legends for the Wii U game trailer was leaked on YouTube, It showed the consoles functionality for touch control, graphics and near field communication capabilities.

Although the trailer has been pulled some have gotten a copy of that footage and have made available for gamer’s to see..

I’ve watched the trailer and I liked what I’ve seen so far, the gameplay footage shows that the graphics will be on par with PS3 and 360, I also notice that  the Wii remote control and tablets can control the game in different ways with the touch and button controls.

It also shows the Wii U tablet controller screen can react to objects place on its screen which was cool, the video shows some players place a plastic heart and a Rabbid into the game.

All contents shown on the video are things Nintendo clearly didn’t want to get seen until E3 when they plan to  debut the new console.

Ubisoft Celebrates 25 years of gaming on Xbox Live

It’s a month of gaming promotions I kid you not, Steam, Android, Get Games and others are just blowing out sales on products. Today though Xbox users get to share in 25 years of Ubisoft products with an exclusive sale on digital titles. Unfortunately it’s a mix of pricing but we’ll note it all here.

It was mentioned we would also see Scott Pilgrim Vs the World The Game in the list, unfortunately it looks like all the related goods for the game are still at full price. Hopefully some shifts do come up, it would be a shame to lose out on it at the last minute.

Assassins Creed: Revelations announced!

And… Ezio is back again.

Assassins Creed: Revelations is the final chapter to the his story and it seems like it might just be the greatest one yet, as Ezio goes through a journey of discovery walking the path of his mentor Altair. The journey will take him to new lands in pursuit of the Templars as they gather in Constantinople for a takeover. Add in some multiplayer with new modes, maps and characters and the game gets even more life as it presses everyone to test their skills in a new atmosphere.

Also on the plate is the ability to play with the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to uncover the mystery of his past so the future is clear.

Unfortunately for more information we’ll all have to wait, the game will be shown in detail at E3 2011 this year. I can say I’m actually pretty interested to see how the series will wrap up this time around but hopefully it wont take months to get a PC version ported.
