PlayStation 4 Is Officially Announced Along With Future Game Releases At Sony’s PlayStation Event

Yesterday Sony Entertainment gave us the scope on the PlayStation 4, Lead architect Mark Cerny presented and went of the specs of the Nex-Gen console staying the goal is to “free developers form technological barriers.” With a history of 30 years in the gaming industry Mark Cerny has seen it all.

In the beginning of the event Cerny got into detail of what’s really inside the console, the Ps4 will use the X86 CPU with 8GB memory and a local hard drive; it will also use the APU technology and GDDR5 memory that is found in high end graphics cards.

One of main focal points Cerny and the rest of the developers that spoke put a lot of emphasis on Simple, Immediate, Social, Integrated and personalized as words to describe the Ps4. The first major thing announced was that the console has a secondary chip for uploading and downloading in the background as you play, Example if you’re playing a game and you want to record it all you have to do is press a button on the controller and it will record that very second, that same chip also lets you play Digital games as it’s being downloaded.

Sony’s Ps vita will be compatible with the Ps4, letting the gamer switch between the two without starting your game over, somewhat like the Wii U controller. The social aspect of ps4 looks to be impressive as well players can now tune in to fellow gamers and watches them playing through there game, players can even ask there spectators for help, going as far as giving the spectator the ability to take control of the game. All which Sony’s Anderw House said will create “Experiences that surpass gamer’s wildest expectations.”

From there capabilities of the Ps4 graphical prowess were shown in demo reels of real time graphic engines like the Unreal engine 4, square enix luminous engine, and Capcom’s impressive Panta Rhei engine, also shown was the improvements of the Move and motion stick and how it could be used in the Ps4, with games allowing the player to create things in full scale 3D.

The final hour of the Event was basically dedicated to the games that are going to be released when the Ps4 hits. Games like Sucker Punches Infamous: Second Son and Bungie’s Destiny didn’t have actually in game footage, but developers Guerrilla Games Killzone: Shadow Fall and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs had on hand real time game demos live.

In the end Sony’s PlayStation Event was what I expected it to be and that is the official announcement of the PS4. From top-tier exclusives from its best studios to multiplatform experiences from respected publishers and developers in the industry, the Ps4 looks to start off with a bang.

Here are the gameplay footage of the new Killzone and a brand new Watch Dogs game footage.

Preview – NCAA Football 13

Summers almost here and that means another year of EA’s College football with new gameplay ti wicks and promise of more improvements EA plans to step it up for the new year!

Down Below are a list of some changes and new feature that have been made, for more info checkout the NCAA Football 13 website for trailers and screenshots

Early Release: Juyl 7, 2012 / Season Ticket
Player: 1-4, Online Multiplayer 1-2

GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW

With a new passing system that changes the way quarterbacks and receivers play and respond, combined with a new read and react defensive AI system, NCAA Football 13 delivers greater realism on the virtual gridiron.

TOTAL CONTROL PASSING

Passing is more important than ever in the realm of collegiate football, and NCAA Football 13 has taken great strides to give users unparalleled control over this element of the game. Total Control Passing allows quarterbacks to lead their receivers into open space, and reconfigured passing trajectories to allow QBs to drop their passes in between layers of coverage without leading receivers out of bounds and while also maintaining a realistic throwing velocity.

Receiver Awareness – All those times when you’d complete a pass well before the receiver completed his route? You’re not going to be doing those as much if EA has its way. This year, the icons over receivers will light up when a player is expecting a pass. This doesn’t mean he’s open. This just means the receiver is looking for the ball. Similarly, you can throw when the icon isn’t lit up, but the chances of a catch are lower.

READ & REACT DEFENSE

Passing isn’t the only revamped element of NCAA Football 13; pass coverage has been overhauled as well. Gone are the days of “Psychic DBs” and “Super Linebackers,” as the new Read & React Defensive AI system requires defenders to see the ball before they make a play on it. This means defenders will react in a much more realistic manner, only making plays on the ball when they actually see it in the air. Now well-executed pump fakes or play action plays are more dangerous than ever, and defenders who lose track of the ball will be hard-pressed to contain their offensive counterparts.

DYNASTY OVERVIEW

Recruiting pitches have been updated to include dynamic grades, allowing users to improve their University ratings and sell their school to top prospects through the influence of various actions in Dynasty Mode. Fourteen unique pitches have been created to reflect certain categories in Dynasty and will be updated continuously, including Championship Contender, Coach Prestige, Coach Stability, Conference Prestige, TV Exposure, Pro Potential, Stadium Atmosphere, Playing Style, Program Tradition, Playing Time, Proximity to Home, Academic Prestige, Athletic Facilities and Campus Lifestyle.

Rumor- Nintendo’s Wii U $300?

Rumor is spinning that Montreal-based culture and entertainment site Forget the Box has a close source to the manufacturing and distributing arm for Nintendo products. It has been rumored the Wii U manufacturing cost will be about $180 with additional $50 for the controller based. The source also said that Nintendo is concerned about cutting production costs to maximize profits. To keep investors from stepping back, they plan to cut the cost of hardware for the Wii U, Nintendo wants investors to see Wii U as a less risky proposition and avoid another 3DS situation for the company.

The source has also said that Nintendo is going with an economical GPU and CPU that could keep up with today’s current consoles, but still keep hardware costs down and increase profits. By getting a good deal for the GPU and CPU, and with the focus on downloadable content, applications, video content, digital distribution, and services this should have investors excited.

We’ll have to wait for more to break out about the console and see if Nintendo can confirm or elaborate on these details before E3 rolls around in June.
